Maureen McLoughlin loves showing off Vermont.
The Williston resident, who works for Stock the House Vermont concierge services, organizes everything from catered dinners to winter sleigh rides for guests visiting Vermont.
McLoughlin is a concierge and ambassador for the company, which was founded in 2017 by Jim and Domenica Mastroianni. McLoughlin joined Stock the House in December of 2018. Her first task was to coordinate a holiday dinner for 22 people in Woodstock—complete with a winter sleigh ride and music by a four-piece Irish band.
Not every request from Stock the House clients calls for festive dinners and live music. Some clients want a stocked fridge at their ski condo at Okemo, tickets to a show in Burlington, or an itinerary of places to visit along Route 100.
McLoughlin worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, with various roles from customer service trainer to travel agent. She sees working for Stock the House as a perfect fit for her lifestyle.
“I wanted to do something I enjoy that gives me flexibility where I can be home but also be out meeting people,” she says. “I’m very organized—I live by my lists! When I’m talking to our clients, I try to put myself in their shoes. What do they need? Do they have kids? Do they like Vermont beers? Things like that.”
Born and raised in Vermont, McLoughlin is only now exploring all the state has to offer.
“I don’t know my home state as much as I would like, so I love discovering Vermont at this point in my life,” she says. “There’s so much more here than I ever imagined.”
