Fall in Addison County

Over the weekend I traveled to Lincoln, Monkton and Bristol, which are three small towns in Addison County. These communities, located west of Vermont’s Green Mountains and east of Route 7, are showing some of the most vibrant fall colors I’ve seen so far this year.

Not only is the fall foliage at peak in many parts of Addison County, but the views in this area are among the most beautiful you’ll find in Vermont. There are a variety of quiet town roads to explore, and you can also see plenty of scenic views on Route 17 and Route 116.

Hi Erica… thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment… you may remember that I grew up in Vermont… Wisconsin is very beautiful, but there is no comparison with what I knew as a youth and enjoy on countless visits over the years. I guess it came down to one of my favorite Frost poems… regarding two roads… in my life it really has made all the difference, but there will always be a place for Vermont and sometimes I wish I could just pack up and “go home”, but I do feel blessed right where I’m at!! I’m enjoying your blog immensely… take care, Larry

    Hi Erica,
My husband and I were just through Vermont last week. We went to the coast Portsmoth NH and York and Wells and Ogunquit. So beautiful. We had a great time. On our way home we drove through Vermont stayed overnight in Burlington and crossed the ferry on Lake Champlain. It was good to be back in Vermont, such a beautiful state. Hope you stop by my blog.

Thanks Matt! I really like the silo image too. The foliage will be over here soon, and it went by fast.

Hi Kerry — Sounds like you had a great trip. I love taking the ferry across the lake! Thanks for saying hello.
