The End of Summer

Blanchard Beach in Burlington.

It's only late August, but I can already feel the autumn chill in the air. Here and there a few leaves are turning yellow and orange, and the mornings are crisp and clear.

I love fall in Vermont. But I don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to summer just yet.

  1. What a serene view. I'm not sure I'm ready to say good-bye to it either, but what choice do we have.

We shall enjoy every minute of Fall!

  2. So beautiful. I'm dying to go to Vermont in the fall-- although I will be driving through it for like, five minutes, on my way to New Hampshire in October :p

  3. Hello Erica happened upon your blog from I Heart New England. I know the feeling. I can tell that subtley changing days and nights you know means summer's ending and fall is approaching. Carol

  4. It's a beautiful photo with the few bathers and the resting bicycle - so far from the turmoil of the modern world. Yes, the air is turning crisp. Gone the haze of summer days... I am going to miss it.

  5. Hi Sharon -- It went by way too fast this year!

Thanks Erin! Hope you can spend some time in VT soon!

Hi Carol -- It's strange how quickly the changes come at the end of the season. August is a strange month -- kind of a mix of summer and fall.

Hi Hilke -- I will miss it too! But seeing the leaves change will be nice. I'm just not ready!

  6. So sad, but all good things must come to an end. Great photo to paint the picture.
