The snow is a little late this year, but it's finally here. Several areas of the state did receive a few inches over the weekend, and more snow is in the forecast this week. It won't be long before the mountains are fully covered with fresh powder.
Some ski resorts, including Stowe, Killington, Okemo, and Sugarbush, are now open for the season. More ski areas will open this week as temperatures drop and the snow continues to fall.
Now that winter has arrived, I am hoping to take more photos of ski areas this season. The above image, taken on a blustery January day at Stowe a few years ago, captures everything I love about winter.
Looking forward to getting out there once again.

Still no snow sticking to the ground here in the Champlain Valley,... but I think Whiteface opened this past Saturday too. At least it's getting cold enough to be able to make snow even if we don't get a lot of the natural suff!

ReplyDeleteThe picture of Stowe Mtn. ski area looks awesome. They have some fairly good terrain it appears. We need some snow here in Idaho..there is about 4 feet above 5,000 feet...but we need more!
